Compress image to 100 KB

A 100 KB cap is common on marketplaces, classified sites, email newsletters and government forms. This tool takes your photos, video stills or screenshots and brings each one under that ceiling at the best quality it can find, on your own device.

JPG · JPEG · JFIF · PNG · WEBP · AVIF · HEIC · HEIF · BMP · TIF … · folders and pasted images work too
Processed on your device: your files are never uploaded.

How to use the Compress Image to 100KB

  1. Add the pictures, as many as you like.
  2. Leave the target at 100, or replace it with whatever cap the site gave you.
  3. Pick JPG for broad acceptance or WebP for a cleaner image at the same size.
  4. Compress, then save each result separately or grab the whole set in one ZIP.

Room to breathe

One hundred kilobytes is generous enough for a sharp photo somewhere around twelve to sixteen hundred pixels wide. Most pictures fit by lowering the quality alone, and only very detailed or noisy shots, such as night photos, need to be scaled down as well.

Files that already fit and are not being resized come back untouched, as long as they are not HEIC, TIFF or BMP, which are always converted.

JPG or WebP at this size

Upload forms nearly always accept JPG, so it is the default. When WebP is allowed, it handles skies, skin and smooth backgrounds visibly better within the same 100 KB.

Every compressed file is written without EXIF metadata, so location and phone details stay with you. The picture is turned the right way up before that information is dropped.

One limit for a whole set

Selling several items or posting a gallery? Add every photo at once and each is brought under the same cap at its own best quality, ready to save as a single ZIP.

There is no queue and no daily allowance, because the work happens in your browser rather than on a server.

Questions

Can I set a width too?

Yes. More settings offers percentage, width, height and box modes; the picture is resized first and the KB target is applied to the result.

Do PNG screenshots with transparency work?

Yes. With JPG output the clear areas are filled with white unless you choose black or light grey under More settings; WebP output keeps them transparent.

What if a picture cannot get under 100 KB?

After several rounds of scaling down, the tool stops with a message rather than giving you a file above the limit.
